A striking ornamental variety, perfect for adding a splash of colour to your conservatory or windowsill. This plant’s dense foliage comprises of pastel green and dramatically dark purple leaves. Its masses of tiny bright purple flowers mature into pointed, upright purple pods that ripen to scarlet red, and are typically only 2-3cm tall.
Perfect for growing in smaller containers or on a sunny windowsill, as even at full maturity it only reaches a maximum height of 30cm!
Don’t be fooled however; these pods pack a surprising punch considering their size. The fruits are thin skinned and excellent for drying, try stringing them for an attractive decoration or grinding them into a fine powder to add a spicy kick to your favourite recipes.
